1 Mixing Bowl
1 Whisk
1 Spatula
1 Rolling Pin
1 Frying Pan
Ingredients
500gBread Flour or Strong Flour
5gBaking Powder (1 tsp)
10gSalt
200mlWater
100gGreek Style Yoghurt
50gSugar
25gOil
Instructions
In a mixing bowl add the sugar, salt, yoghurt and the water, using the whisk give it all a good mix.
Add the strong flour and baking powder, then mix until large flakes form.
Next use your hand push all the dough flakes together. Once there is no more dry flour, add the oil and mix it into the dough. Knead for 5 - 10 minutes or until the dough becomes smooth.
Put the dough on the work surface and gently push it flat and divide into 10 pieces. Next roll each dough piece into a ball. Then cover with wrap and leave them to rest for 10 minutes.
Scatter some flour on the work surface and put one ball on it and use your hand push it flat, next use rolling pin roll out around 15cm. Repeat for each dough ball.
Place a frying pan over a medium heat. Gently place the dough in the pan and cook it for 50 - 60 seconds or until it starts to bubble. Then turn it over, using a spatula, push the dough into the pan, so it can cook evenly. This should take around 40 seconds, then turn over again.
The bread may at some point blow up like a balloon, usually around 20 seconds. Allow it to cook for a few more seconds and then remove from the pan. Don't worry if the bread doesn't inflate, it will still be delicious. Make sure the bread is cooked.
Enjoy your flatbread, we like to eat them with BBQ meat, vegetables and sauce.
